Our History


     Pastors Marcus and LaTerra Ruffin are by far strangers to hearing and obeying God's call, voice and direction.  As youth, God birthed and matured in them the desire to serve Him and His people.  Under the spiritual coverings of Pastor Andrew Singletary, New Life Christian Center and Bishop Claude Barnes, Church of Faith, Philadelphia, PA.  Pastors' Marcus and LaTerra grew in "wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man," unleashed a servant's hearts, conquered the lion and the bear, like David, and were both licensed and ordained for continued Kingdom service!  
 

And God said, L.E.C.....Life Empowerment Church.  Clear as a bell, God continued to unfold the initial location (Moreno Valley, California), mission statement (Connecting - Teaching - Multiplying) and the strategic plan for these anointed entities to transform lives.  As Pastors Ruffins' second set of twins, these ministries give hope and direction for both Christians and non-Christians alike. 

          Their ten year Assistant Pastor assignment under Dr. Jeff Walker, Victory Christian Center gave shoe leather to their formal preparation.  Serving a congregation of 1200 and a valley multiple times larger as its Pastor, fortified discernment while adding more trajectory for providing excellent leadership, unconditional love and acceptance through Life Empowerment Church.  Not to mention, their twin children, Queen-Majesty and King-Marcus are part of the ministry team for maximizing people for Life and Eternity. 

          A significant and instrumental couple who helped Pastors Marcus and LaTerra launch Life Empowerment Church was Destiny Church with Pastor Obed and Lissette Martinez.  They have served as spiritual mentors and coaches throughout the lifetime of LEC.  Pastors Marcus and LaTerra are extremely honored by their continual sacrifice and impartation.  They encourage all Pastors to join Passionate Pastors, a fellowship for leadership/church/pastoral growth and development!
